Abode Renovations is a Sydney kitchen and bathroom renovation company based in Beverly Hills, near Hurstville, in the Southern Sydney area. The owners approached me back in 2017 to design a new website for their company. In 2022, I upgraded the original website to a new design that was in line with the direction the company had taken over the past 5 years.
Original website design in 2017
I designed Abode Renovations’ first website back in 2017. At the time, they required a website that showcased their renovation work and would attract customers to their home renovation showroom.
This was their first website so they wanted to proceed slowly. With this in mind, I recommended we undertake the website development process in stages. That way, the website could evolve alongside the company’s goals and budget.
I chose to design a simple WordPress website that the Abode staff could update and maintain in-house via an easy-to-use content management system.
A blog was added to showcase a portfolio of kitchen and bathroom renovation projects completed by the company. This was also used to boost their search engine ranking for a variety of localised keyword search phrases.
I provided several hours of onsite WordPress training, teaching the Abode team how to maintain and manage their website.
WordPress website upgrade in 2022
In 2022, five years after the original website was completed, we upgraded the Abode website to a more contemporary design and layout.
During this time, their photography skills had improved vastly and was given a library of photos to choose from.
I undertook new keyword research and revised my original search engine strategy. In line with my findings, I amended the existing content on the website and added new content to ensure I had the appropriate keyword relevancy to keep Google happy.
