WEB DESIGN COMPANY FRENCHS FOREST.
Techstream IT Solutions are an IT company located at Frenchs Forest on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. When they approached me for assistance, they had a WordPress website they had designed inhouse. While the design of their old website was OK, it did lack a creativity and hadn’t been developed for use as a “tool” to drive customer enquiries. No SEO had been done so the website didn’t rank on Google and wouldn’t have been visible to potential customers searching for a computer support company.
All-inclusive website design service included:
- WordPress website design
- Blog integration »
- Search engine optimisation (SEO) »
- Onsite SEO & WordPress training »
Thankfully they were very open to any ideas and suggestions I had and weren’t offended when I suggested a new website design. Next I gleaned more information about their business, the services they offer, their strengths and the type of clients they were seeking to attract. They supplied links to a few websites they liked and some they didn’t. This always gives me great insight into the image they wanted to convey and how they didn’t want to be represented.
Next we discussed keywords and keyword search phrases they thought potential customers were likely to use to try and find a company such as theirs. I then undertook extensive keyword research to determine how many people actually used these keywords and, as always, uncovered other keywords they hadn’t realised were popular. I always find this stage of the process incredibly interesting – whatever the industry, people are often insular regarding the keywords they “think” potential customers will use. It’s often when my research uncovers a range of popular search terms that the client realises the exciting potential of their new website will have. I am also a firm believer in targeting “niche keywords”. While these may not be the search terms that attracts the largest volume of searches, but, importantly, they are still used by people. Why these are so interesting to me is they are often overlooked by the majority of their competitors so are ripe for the picking. It’s easier to rank top of Google and you often won’t have any competition. They are the gift that just keeps giving!
And finally, before I start developing the website, as with all my web design projects, based on my research above and conversations with the client, I came up with an SEO strategy for the entire website.
Now for the “pretty” stuff – the website design. Being a “boutique tech company” it was important the website was simple, modern and stylish. While a top search engine ranking is paramount (of course) equally as important is, once a potential client enters the website, they need to know what to do and how to act. In this instance, I had two goals:
- showcase all the services Techstream Solutions offers – i.e., “you’re one-stop IT support company”, and
- inspire the visitor to contact the company.
It’s simply a waste spending time and money establishing a top Google ranking if, when potential clients do visit your website, they don’t know what to do, or your business, products and services aren’t represented clearly so you lose the business to your competitors. Good website design involves as much psychology of layout and content as it does nice design and pretty pictures.
And finally, with all the content added, a few last search engine optimisation tweaks are made to ensure the website as a whole adheres to the overall SEO strategy. A blog was also added so they could showcase helpful technical support tips and industry news.
Once the website was live I provided 2.5 hours onside WordPress training so they could confidently manage the website inhouse. As always, I make myself available anytime to assist with website updates if required.
From the moment we engaged the services of RAM Marketing, I knew I had made the right decision. We provided a brief of our requirements which included colour palette, description of the concept we wished to create and keywords for SEO to name a few. It was obvious Rebecca had placed a huge amount of time researching our company as well as the industry. She had been able to successfully create a website design that reflected the branding perfectly and also provided valuable advice to enable the website to be interactive, easy to navigate and stand out from competitors.
Overall, I found the whole experience of building the website through RAM Marketing positive and we are very happy with the results achieved. I would have no hesitation recommending Rebecca from RAM Marketing to any business looking for assistance with their website, SEO or marketing.
