Narrabeen Speech Pathology is a new business providing paediatric speech therapy services on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. As a new business, start-up funds were limited so I had only a small budget with which to develop their website. The owner also wanted the website up and running quickly so they could start attracting new business. With this in mind, I created a simple, cost effective one page website that has the potential to expand in the future as the business grows without having to develop a new website from scratch. The website in it’s current format forms a good foundation for potential future growth and expansion. As the business attracts new clients, more money can be funneled into the website in an attempt to expand their client base to new areas.
Importantly, the website is mobile-friendly so looks great and is easy to use on all devices including computers, tablets, iPads and mobile phones. This is particularly important for this business where parents are likely to be undertaking research whilst on-the-go on their mobile phone. Click-to-call functionality was added throughout the website as well as an online enquiry form to encourage outside business hours enquiries plus a location map to assist clients to find the clinic.
The client didn’t have a logo or any branding in place so I developed a fun and friendly website design using a colourful parrot which was a reference to the business owner’s surname (Parrott) and the industry of ‘speech’ therapy and learning to talk. I also wanted to make the website look appealing to parents and move away from the clinical nature of other speech pathology websites as Narrabeen Speech Pathology’s clientele are children under 8 years of age.
