Pittwater Sports Centre is somewhat of a Northern Beaches landmark. I was contacted by the Centre after their current website has been ‘hacked’ and had developed a myriad of problems. Pages had disappeared, the navigation structure was cumbersome, the website was painfully slow to load… In short, the website wasn’t doing them any favours and possibly having a detrimental effect on their business because it was so corrupt. Secondly, the website wasn’t mobile friendly and desperately needed to be upgraded. Unfortunately, the damage done by the ‘hackers’ meant we were unable to salvage much of the original website so I recommended we develop a brand new, clean website from scratch. This in fact worked out to be a cheaper option rather than try working with the old, problematic website. We even changed website hosting companies to a more secure server.
The new website was developed with the end user in mind. With the integration of a responsive design, this means their customers can book classes and make enquiries quickly from all devices including mobile phones and tablets. A dual navigation structure structure draws attention to the various services offered at the Centre and makes it very easy for users to navigate to relevant pages.
An easy-to-use web based content management system makes it very easy for staff at the Centre to quickly update information on the website and post up coming news and events. Updates can even be made ‘on the road’ from tablets and mobile phones.
