SANDY is a Northern Beaches hairdressing salon that is synonymous with highly experienced hairdressers and an exceptional customer experience similar to that of a day spa. The owner was referred to me by a client when she needed a new website that would increase their exposure on Google and, importantly, redirect systems online like client appointments and gift voucher purchases.

SANDY Salon already had a WIX website that they had developed themselves in-house a few years ago.  As is often the case, they had outgrown their WIX website and needed a website that would rank top of Google (search engine optimised) whilst having the potential to grow and evolve alongside the business.

They needed a website that would showcase the hairdressing services offered, examples of their client’s hair and blog.  Importantly, they wanted an online appointment booking system added so clients could book online instead of calling the Salon, tying up staff.  They also wanted clients to be able to purchase gift vouchers online.

With all this in mind, I recommended converting their WIX website over to WordPress.

WordPress powers approximately 30% of the websites globally. It is extremely powerful yet simple to use and manage. WordPress is perfect for creating sensational-looking, mobile-friendly websites on a budget.

WordPress can be used to create everything from simple websites and blogs to complex e-commerce shopping carts and enterprise websites.

WordPresses easy-to-use content management system (CMS) means the SANDY crew can update and maintain their new website in-house.  Of course, if they’re unable to do this, I am always available to assist with any website maintenance requirements they aren’t able to manage in-house.

Organic search engine optimisation

As is the case with most websites, a top organic search engine ranking was paramount.

To this end, I undertook extensive keyword research and developed a keyword strategy for the new website.

In accordance with my keyword research, there was additional information that I recommended be added to boost the website keyword relevancy for a wider range of search terms used by potential clients searching for a local hairdressing salon or an expert blonde hair colourist (a SANDY specialty).

I also made tweaks to their Google My Business listing to improve their exposure in the Maps search section. See screen shot above.
