Gift Fairs Website Design

Prestige Fairs Hong Kong is an Australian-based company specialising in gift fairs in Hong Kong.  I have been working with them since 2017 and, in 2023, upgraded the design and functionality of their website.

New WordPress Website Design

Prestige Fairs is a Northern Beaches based business that runs hugely successful gift fairs in Hong Kong throughout the year.  Having previously worked with an off-shore website design company, they wanted to work with someone locally so reached out to me.

The first step was to design a new, contemporary website that adequately showcased the features and benefits of the gift fairs thereby attracting exhibitors and shoppers. Their old website wasn’t mobile-friendly and was drastically out of date.  It hasn’t been optimised for search engine ranking so wasn’t attracting new exhibitor enquiries.

I suggested their new website be designed using the WordPress platform. WordPress powers more than 40% of the websites globally and has the potential to evolve alongside any business.  Importantly, it’s very search engine friendly and can be easily managed in-house via the easy-to-use content management system called the “Dashboard”.  The Dashboard can be accessed from any website browser on computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Part of the new website design was to improve the content by adding strong calls-to-action and enquiry forms.  To reduce time spent on administrative tasks and the exhibitor sign-up process, I integrated a series of online forms.

One of the most exciting additions to the new website was the integration of an exhibitor database.  This could be used by shoppers to view the products and services offered by the stallholders attending upcoming fairs.  It quickly became one of the most frequently visited sections of the website.  Shoppers can search for exhibitors by category (for example, jewellery, pet products, gourmet food) or alphabetically.   This powerful database is easy to use and the clients manage it in-house, adding the details of each exhibitor via an easy-to-use Dashboard.

WordPress Website Upgrade

While the original website I designed in 2019 was still working extremely well, in 2023 they wanted me to implement a design upgrade to refresh the layout.  New photos were added and the content refreshed. An updated colour scheme was also integrated.  The original hot pink and orange branding was removed and replaced with gold, dark grey, teal and red.

As part of the upgrade, I refreshed the keyword and organic SEO strategy to ensure we were targeting relevant search terms that weren’t relevant in 2019.

I was able to complete the upgrade in time for when they started promoting their upcoming Christmas gift fairs.
